MOVE BEND was an initiative brought forth to serve as a platform for connecting businesses in the Bend area in order to align on a shared vision for the future of transportation for the city.

The client was looking for a modern web experience to match the visionary goals of the program. I contributed many roles throughout the entirety of the project including website design, animation, print layout design, and video production assistance.

PRINT LAYOUT DESIGN

Printed Pitch Deck

The MOVE BEND committee had an existing pitch deck that looked like it was created in Microsoft paint and been hand-bound by a single staple in the corner. The ambitious goals of the program needed an equally impressive pitch deck to present to investors, so I helped give a face life to their existing design. The final result was a saddle stitched, full bleed, color pamphlet outlining the program overview, project highlights (including concept art I designed), program partners, and funding contribution signups.

VIDEO + MOTION GRAPHICS

Brand Anthem Video

A major part of the project was to create an anthem film to showcase the upcoming series of municipal projects designed to accommodate the growing city population. I assisted with the planning, scoping, and shooting of the actual video production, but in addition was solely responsible for creating the illustration and animation for all motion graphics used throughout the video.

Website Design

Since the project dealt with city planning, we made an interactive website that included clickable maps using city data to display densities of certain populations, future infrastructure projects, and pain points overlaid on top of SVG maps so that residents could learn more about the program and be informed of upcoming changes across the city.

CLICKABLE PROTOTYPE

RFP Response

One part of the project that I truly enjoyed was helping design our agency’s RFP response pitch that ultimately landed us the job. Part of what made this response so special was the decision to go beyond a written response and in addition put together a clickable prototype of the website we envisioned.

Project Reflection

Sometimes projects don’t go according to plan and unfortunately due to internal politics and restructuring, MOVE BEND didn’t grow and flourish like we had envisioned. But hey, that doesn’t mean I didn’t actually get to create the awesome work shown above and I’m proud of that. I loved the exciting blue-sky approach to delivering a moonshot idea to an unassuming municipal planning committee and knocking their socks off with every deliverable.
